Nilesh Shah
CEO, Ambit Capital


Mr. Shah is a Chartered Accountant with more than 27 years of work experience in Indian Capital Markets. He has expertise in Institutional Equities, Private Banking, Insurance Broking and Fund Management. He joined Ambit Capital as the CEO in May 2007.

A result oriented and influential leader with a proven track record of setting up a Greenfield brokerage house. It caters to institutional clients, HNIs and offers products and services for wealth management. His core competencies include business developments & incident management, pertaining to the brokerage business and networking with FIIs globally.

In his earlier assignment as Director & Head of PCG, at Edelweiss Securities, he was instrumental in developing Edelweiss into a first generation investment bank. He expanded Edelweiss's presence in the financial services industry by successfully developing the institutional equities business, enhancing the research team, launching the PCG services & insurance broking & considerably growing the Edelweiss business in India. Prior to this he was heading Rooshnil Securities, his family business that catered to HNIs & retail broking business.

Mr. Shah has been a member of the Arbitration committee at the BSE for 11 years & of the Defaulter committee at the BSE for 3 years. He is also the trustee of the Yatra Art fund – a close-ended fund investing in art.

Sandeep Jain
Director - Private Client Group


Sandeep Jain is the Director and heads the Private Client Group at Ambit Capital. With Masters degree in Business Management, he has accumulated 15 years of experience and expertise in various functions of Capital Markets viz. Merchant Banking, Institutional Sales, Managing Equity Portfolios for high net worth individuals and business development. At Ambit, his present responsibilities centre on company's Private Client business comprising broking for HNI clients, third party distribution, derivative strategies and structured products. Prior to Ambit, Sandeep had stints with Anagram Stockroking and Sharekhan where he supported many key initiatives and developed the HNI brokerage business.

Mr. R Murali Krishanan
Director - Research, Ambit Capital


Murali has extensive experience spanning over 25 years in the banking and financial services industry. He is currently heading the Research team at Ambit Capital.

His most recent assignment was with MF Global India where he was the Head of Research, responsible for establishing equity research and sales processes for domestic and global clients. His previous stints include brokerage houses Alchemy and Anand Rathi Securities where he spearheaded the institutional equities business for the organizations.

Murali also has extensive experience working with Fund and Asset Management business having worked with companies like Prudential ICICI Mutual Fund & Asset Management and Canbank Mutual Fund. During this tenure, Murali gained tremendous experience within fund management and equity research.

A commerce graduate, Murali began his career with Canara Bank in Chennai, managing the operations side of a commercial bank for nearly a decade. He holds a Post-Graduate Honors Diploma in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations from Madras School of Social Work and is a Certified Associate member of the Indian Institute of Bankers and the Indian Banks Association. Murali is also a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Vaibhav Sanghavi
Director, Ambit Capital


Vaibhav has extensive experience across equity proprietary trading and private banking. Until recently, Vaibhav was the Vice-President of Strategic Risk Group at DSP Merrill Lynch, managing Long/short equity proprietary book as a part of the global group. He managed to generate absolute revenue in a volatile market and outperformed every index in the Indian market and almost all industry players. He was in charge of managing a fund of over USD 550 mln including managing the risk of the total book onshore and offshore.He also liased with different market intelligence groups, analyzing the market, sector and stock trends to maximize the risk adjusted returns. His previous stints include HDFC Bank where he advised the private banking group on equity recommendations and provided market intelligence.

Vaibhav holds an B.Com degree and is a Chartered Accountant by qualification.
